About Me
I am originally from the UK where I worked in several schools primarily in the Early Years and Key Stage 1. I relocated to Qatar in 2021 and work in Year 1 in an international school. I tutor some families, in person, consolidating their learning from school and helping them to have the confidence to embed this learning in their day-to-day lives.
Teaching Style
I aim to bring my lessons to life wherever possible. I believe teaching should be as realistic as possible therefore I always try to teach concepts by putting them into context. This helps the child to understand how their learning relates to the real world. A good example of this would be in Maths. Many of the concepts taught are quite abstract, such as measurement. I engage the children by providing them with real-life examples of when measurement is needed in the real world, for example in the construction industry. I make my lessons as fun, interactive and engaging as possible, through the use of play and ICT wherever possible. By complementing and reinforcing what your child is already learning in school, my sessions are designed to solidify their understanding and foster a love for learning.
