Raneem A.

I am Raneem Alainiah, an honored junior computer science student with a fully funded scholarship at Gust (Gulf University for Science and Technology) in Kuwait. I have participated in many activities and competitions, such as KCPC (a programming competition) and VEX (a robotics competition). I have also applied for several jobs offered by our university under the Student Employment Program. I have worked as a course assistant, note-taker, and peer tutor. I am particularly passionate about peer tutoring, as it allows me to help others and achieve personal growth, and I am going deep into understanding the tutor job from both an ethical and academic perspective by joining the CARLA training that our university offers. In addition, I hold an AWS Cloud Foundations scholarship, reflecting my dedication to advancing my technical expertise.

The first step I adopt as a tutor is providing a comfortable environment for students to let them feel free to express their weaknesses and challenging points. I incorporate a variety of teaching methods, including clear explanations about the topic, problem-solving activities, and collaborative exercises. This approach gives me the confidence that the students get the support they need. In some cases, I prefer to have extra sessions as a way to have additional support and ensure that challenging topics are fully understood.
