About Me

I earned TEFL and CELTA degrees from the University of Wales, Swansea, UK. My teaching experience includes one-year teaching multicultural students in Swansea and one year teaching voluntarily at Kingsway College in Swansea, UK. I have also worked as an English Language Instructor at Taif and Riyadh Universities for 12 years i.e. two years at King Saud University, Riyadh, and 10 years at Taif University, Taif, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. While working at Taif University, I took intensive English classes almost throughout my tenure. I also taught a business class for one year. I came back from Taif on Sep 20 and since then living in Pakistan my home country. Since my stay in Pakistan, I have been taking English classes regularly. I am working with Preply and Native camp. I have also taught in Nepal.

Teaching Approach

Teaching ESL requires a structured yet flexible approach. Lessons typically begin with a warm-up activity to engage students and review previous material. The main session focuses on introducing new vocabulary, grammar, or language functions through interactive activities like role-plays, group discussions, or games. Teachers often use real-life scenarios, visual aids, and multimedia tools to make lessons relatable and engaging. Pronunciation and listening exercises are also integral, helping students build confidence in their speaking abilities. Sessions are usually divided into segments to balance different skills. For example, a 60-minute class might include 15 minutes of vocabulary practice, 20 minutes of grammar instruction, and 25 minutes of conversational practice. Homework or self-study tasks are often assigned to reinforce learning. Effective ESL teaching emphasizes creating a supportive, inclusive environment where students feel comfortable practicing and making mistakes. Teachers should adapt their methods to suit the diverse needs and learning styles of their students, ensuring progress and motivation. Regular assessments and feedback help track improvement and address areas needing further attention.
