Computer Science

I have proven success spanning ICT/Computer Science teaching. This combined with a strong academic background culminating in a MA degree in Educational Leadership and Management. Provides me with the skills to be an excellent teacher. As you will see from my attached CV, I have built my career in various teaching and leadership roles on an international stage, including recent success as Head of Computer Science (Senior School), Computer Science/ICT Teacher at British International School Riyadh. During this time, I have been instrumental in delivering and maintaining sustained academic excellence through trusting relationships, effective communications, pastoral care and capacity building while managing best practice implementation. During my two years in pastoral care as Head of Year, I consistently showcased impressive interpersonal communication skills, complemented by a strong sense of humour. During this time, I was instrumental in delivering successful outcomes by training and supporting staff at all levels (while also leading a team of Form Tutors). In this role, I harnessed a data-driven approach to inform critical pastoral decisions, culminating in improved year group attendance, punctuality and behaviour. I called upon a passion for extra-curricular learning by organising annual overnight trips. I have attached my CV for further information. However, a snapshot of my highlights includes: • Championed cutting-edge thinking and educational innovation while sensitively navigating ambiguity, identifying creative solutions to problems and securing buy-in to change from senior-level school leaders. • Optimised learning outcomes by introducing high-performance learning methodologies while championing cultures of diversification and differentiation. • Explored how Assessment for Learning (AfL) can support learner progression school-wide, including English as an Additional Language (EAL) students. • Championed use of cutting edge IT tools to facilitate seamless lesson delivery. • Created and led break/lunchtime drop-in sessions for students seeking additional support or extension opportunities. • Produced consistently high results at KS3/4, with improving outcomes at KS5; all lesson observations of at least 'Good'.
